Julie PARKS-CAVANOUGH

Julie Parks-Cavanough has been teaching dance for 32 years. At the age of 16 Julie was appointed student teacher at “The Johnny Young Talent School” in Liverpool and later moved on to be a teacher.

Julie was a member of “Kids Unlimited” and also appeared in TV shows such as Home and Away, Family and Friends and GP as well as TV commercials and films.

On completion of the HSC Julie was appointed as the Jazz and Tap teacher for a studio in Bankstown.

It was during this time that Julie decided to open her own studio and The Julie Parks Studio of Dance was opened in March 1992.

Julie is still the principal teacher at the studio and teaches the majority of the classes. Julie's favourite classes to teach are jazz and contemporary and she believes choreography is her main strength. Her passion is working with the youngest dancers and helping children who think they can't or shouldn't dance realise their dreams.

KIRSTY MINTER

Kirsty Minter trained at JP Dance as a student for many years before becoming a senior teacher. Kirsty teaches all styles of dance and has completed an American Cheerleading course. Her favourite style to teach is Ballet. Kirsty continues to teach senior dance classes and has done so during her nursing degree, marriage and arrival of three beautiful children.

Miss Kirsty has been an incredible asset to JP Dance over the past 20 years. We are blessed to have her on staff.

TAYLA CAVANOUGH

Tayla Cavanough has been taking classes at JP Dance since she was two years old. Tayla has stepped up to a teaching position and has done a wonderful job teaching American Cheerleading, Hip Hop and Jazz, performances, solos and duos. Tayla has also been responsible for running several NRL performances and assisting at The Sydney Royal Easter Show.

If not teaching in class, Tayla will often be found behind the counter and can answer any questions you may have about our studio.

Tayla is the eldest daughter of owner Julie Parks-Cavanough. Julie’s youngest daughter, Bree, is also a junior class assistant.

SERENA GHAZZAWY

Serena Ghazzawy has been a member of JP Dance for over 15 years. Serena teaches several age groups and dance styles but particularly enjoys choreographing contemporary routines. Her dancers always enjoy her classes and look forward to performing her routines.
